Dreaming of a White Christmas?

Experience the magic of Christmas in July at Ben Lomond!

On Saturday 11 July 2026, Ben Lomond Base transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland for our third annual Christmas in July Extravaganza.

From 3:00pm, festivities kick off at Ben Lomond Base, just 30 minutes from Launceston, with live music, children's entertainment, festive workshops, fairy floss, Christmas carols and local food and drink vendors.

Arrive early from 8:00am and head up the mountain for snowy fun including tobogganing, snowball fights, skiing and the magic of winter at Ben Lomond.

Ben Lomond Base

The heart of the Christmas in July celebrations, Ben Lomond Base will be serving up festive food, warming drinks and a cosy alpine atmosphere throughout the event.

Monica's Fairy Floss

Adding a little extra sweetness to the festivities, Monica's Fairy Floss will be spinning colourful, fluffy treats that are sure to delight kids and grown ups alike.

Steve is a multi talented musician, composer and teacher based in Poatina, Tasmania.

5:30pm to 8:30pm - Marcelle's Children's Entertainment

Marcelle's Children's Entertainment brings the magic to Christmas in July with games, laughter, balloon creations and fun for all ages.

5:30pm to 7:30pm - Home Grown Tomatoes

Returning for their second year at Christmas in July, this acoustic trio will be providing wholesome family fun and laughs with their groovy tunes.

7:45pm to 9:15pm - Brad Gillies

Brad is a rockin' blues artist hailing from the north of Tasmania.


Workshops and Add Ons

Festive Wreath Making

Join Genna from Ivy and Rose Florist for a festive wreath making workshop.

Your $85 workshop ticket includes entry to the workshop, one wreath base and a selection of materials to create your own Christmas wreath.

With expert guidance and assistance throughout the session, you'll create a beautiful Christmas wreath to take home and enjoy for years to come.

Suitable for adults and children aged 5 years and over. Children may participate with the assistance of a parent or guardian.

Wreath workshops may be shared between two people, however only one wreath is included per workshop booking.

Time: 5:15pm to 6:15pm

Price: $85 per wreath

Whisky Tasting Experience

Join Cory from Western Tiers Distillery for an exclusive whisky tasting experience showcasing a selection of premium Tasmanian whiskies.

Discover the stories, craftsmanship and unique flavours behind each whisky as Cory guides you through a tasting journey featuring locally produced spirits from one of Tasmania's finest distilleries.

Whether you are a seasoned whisky enthusiast or simply curious to learn more, this relaxed and informative session offers the perfect opportunity to sample exceptional whiskies and gain insight into the art of distilling.

Suitable for: Adults aged 18 years and over

Time: 6:45pm to 7:45pm

Price: $25 per person

Enjoy a fantastic range of food, drinks and winter treats from Pig and Chook, Joshy's BBQ, Ben Lomond Base, Monica's Fairy Floss, Western Tiers Distillery and Du Cane Brewery.


Transport

Return coach tickets from Launceston to Ben Lomond Base will be available as an add on.

Coaches operate to and from Ben Lomond Base only. We do not offer transport up the mountain.

Bus pick up and drop off is located at Bathurst Street Carpark, 36-42 Bathurst St, Launceston TAS 7250

Guests are strongly encouraged to familiarise themselves with the pick up location prior to the day of travel to avoid delays or missing the scheduled departure.

Buses will depart strictly at the scheduled booking departure time. Guests are required to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure to allow for boarding.

Guests who arrive late or miss their scheduled bus service will not be entitled to a refund and may not be accommodated on later services, as all seats are reserved in advance.

  • Kids General Admission: $32 6 to 17 years

Children aged 5 years and under do not require a general admission ticket, however they must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times.
